Zoey has been looking for a home for a while now. Could it be with you?

Zoey the red and white pit bull hasn't had an easy life even though she is only three years old.

The American Terrier/pit bull mix was picked up in Houston at an empty, abandoned building. A good samaritan contacted animal control, who in turn reached out to Love-A-Bull, a pit bull advocacy group in Austin, Texas. Zoey was accepted into the organization and volunteers got started in trying to find her a home.

Zoey lived at a foster home for about eight months while Love-A-Bull advocated for her adoption by posting on their Facebook page and bringing her to adoption events. Zoey finally found a home but was unfortunately returned due to her energy level. The potential adopter was unable to commit to having such an active dog. Zoey loves lots of walks and needs a home with an outdoor family!

Zoey has since seen two different foster homes since the beginning of 2016. Even though she is well trained, social and friendly with other dogs, and is sweeter than ever, Zoey is still looking for her forever home.

After living at her second foster home, there was potential with another adopter. Until a few weeks ago things were looking good. Unfortunately, the potential adopters recently returned Zoey again due to breed restriction laws in their home that they were unaware of.

Zoey has since been returned to the boarding facility that Love-A-Bull uses for their adoptable dogs and there she waits.

Zoey loves being outside and benefits from lots of hikes and runs. She is potty-trained, crate-trained and gets along with most dogs. Her former homes each had two or three dogs and there were no issues. That being said, Zoey would do best in a home where she is the only pet. She does like to chase small, furry things so Love-A-Bull is requesting that Zoey's new home does not include cats or small pets.

Zoey has a personality almost as big as her smile and needs to find at least a foster home, if not a forever home. If you have potential to home sweet Zoey you can reach out to [email protected]
