World's First Dog Adoption Brewery to Open Near Portland

You can drink beer, and also play with adoptable dogs.

Of course this paradise would be near Portland!

Fido's is a new tap house to open February 13, just in time for Valentine's Day. But what's special about this local watering hole? It will double as a foster home for shelter dogs.

At Fido's you'll be able to eat, drink, and adopt.

Not only can patrons go enjoy something from their food menu, and enjoy a craft beer off the 40 taps featuring beers brewed at Northwest breweries, but Fido's will also donate a portion of their profits to local animal rescues. They also plan to partner with dog charities to host events, while offering their space to promote dog adoption.

The Fido mission?

To become the preeminent corporate donor to dog welfare charities in the world.

It's clear that Fido's friendly staff truly loves dogs, from their motto to their menu. The owner and founder Scott Porter has taken it upon himself to help reduce the shelter dog population in the Portland area and beyond. He calls himself an "absolute dog lover."

The menu will include wings, pork sliders, pizza, and hot dogs, while the toppings for the hot dogs are creatively and adorably dog-themed. You can choose to have the French Poodle hot dog with a five-cheese mac-n-cheese on top; the German Shepherd topped with sauerkraut and stone-ground mustard; or the Boston Terrier with bacon and white bean jam.

Fido's is located 7700 SW Dartmouth #110 in Tigard, Oregon, about 20 minutes south of Portland.

You can reserve a table for their grand opening on February 13 or for a romantic date on February 14. We don't know about you, but cuddling adoptable dogs while drinking good beer and eating yummy dog-themed food sounds like the perfect date...

Maybe you will even go home with a new four-legged best friend.
