When You Love Your Cats, It Can Be Tough to Leave the House

If you find it tough to say goodbye to your cats and leave the house, then this video is sure to hit home.

When it's time for you to leave the house, what do your cats do? Do they follow you to the door, guilting you with their adorable looks? Do they talk to you, meowing to get your attention? Truth is, when you love your cats, it can be tough to leave the house.

This new video from Cole and Marmalade captures that sentiment perfectly. Do you find yourself having these conversations with your cats when it's time for you to leave for the day?

If you find yourself feeling guilty for leaving your cats alone each day, don't worry - we have some tips to help.

First, if you have only one cat, consider getting another cat so that he has some company. There are plenty of cats in shelters looking for homes; adopting a cat is a rewarding way to add a new member to your family.

You can ensure that your cat has plenty of entertainment while you're gone, too. Consider setting up a window cat seat so that your cat can watch birds and other activity through the window. Keep some special cat toys tucked away, and only leave them out when it's time for you to leave the house. There are even devices which allow you to check in and play with your cat remotely, using your smartphone.

Finally, remember that cats spend large portions of their days sleeping. Chances are that your cat will nap throughout the day and will be all excited to see you when you get home. Now, this may also mean that he has plenty of energy to run around like a nut at 2 a.m., but hey, at least you know he's not bored or lonely while you're away at work!
