When cats interrupt your video interview, things can get very interesting very quickly.
So we've all seen the video of the businessman whose video interview was interrupted by his two children. It's hilarious, and drives home the reality of life with kids. Well, life with cats can be amazingly similar to life with kids, and when your cats interrupt your video interview, well, it's pretty hard to cover up.
If you've ever done any work on a computer with your cats around, you know that cats are seemingly entranced with anything having to do with technology. Laptops, keyboards, and web cams? They're all fair game. And that makes interviews with cats around very, very interesting.
Take a look!
Suffice it to say, if you have to do a video interview with your cats around, it's best to find a way to keep the cats out of the room. Coordinating your interview times with times when you know your cats will be sleeping peacefully elsewhere in the house is one good strategy. Play with your cats and feed them about an hour before your interview. After having played and eaten, your cats will be more likely to relax and decide that it's time for a nap. And you can work without interruption.
When you work at home or have to do a video interview, things can get a little tricky with pets around. If your cats interrupt your interview, the best thing that you can do is to be professional, apologize, and proceed. It's just part of life with cats.
