A Group of Frogs Have the Most Patriotic Name

We've written a lot about frogs! My favorite frog breed is easily the cute tree frog.

The green tree frog is a great pet for novice frog owners, yet these little exotic frogs don't like being handled much so you must consider that before bringing one home. They are super cute to watch! This is a great frog that will give you five or six years of fun and trouble-free care.

With that in mind, we wanted to research some general facts about frogs!

What is a group of frogs called?

A group of frogs is called an army, and even stranger, a group of toads is called a knot!

It's a lot of fun to see what different groups of animals (kangaroos, cheetahs, giraffes, ferrets, flamingos, and even lemurs) are called, but the rest of this article will focus on frog facts:

  • Under 5,000 species of frogs exist
  • 90 of those species are in the U.S.
  • Frogs never close their eyes
  • They regularly shed their skin and then eat it
  • Toads like on land - there is a difference between frogs and toads

Everyone has heard of a murder of crows, but an "army of frogs" sounds way more terrifying if you ask me!

Do you or anyone you know, live with exotic animals? Please comment below!
