This Tick Remover is a Must-Have for Pet Owners

I have two dogs who love nothing more than walking around, rolling in, and playing in the grass — so naturally, I've tried lots of tick removal products. Even though I give them vet-approved tick treatments and a thorough once-over when I bring them inside, it's inevitable that one of those nasty little bugs makes it's way onto my pet and latches in. I typically use medical-grade tweezers for removal, and it's always a struggle to get my dogs to a) calm down and b) calm down enough to get the whole tick out, which everyone knows is the hardest part of the whole ordeal. Seeing the tick head still embedded in your poor pup when he's already squirming to get loose and go nap? Now that's a dreaded end to a nice outdoor adventure. However, through sheer luck, this Tick Twister popped up on my Amazon home page, and I decided to add it to my cart. I had heard of products like it before, but let's be honest — they look cheap and gimmicky, and I thought there wasn't a huge chance they would work. And yet — I still bought it, because what kind of dog owner would I be if I didn't fall for a gimmicky-sounding treat or miracle toy or tick product once in a while? Luckily, this was a gamble that paid off, because this is one of the best pet products I've found in years (it's right up there next to the Rocco & Roxie spray, which I also recommend to every pet owner I know).

The Tick Twister Tick Remover Set - Amazon, $6.50

When I received it in the mail, my first thought upon opening it was: "I'm going to lose this." They're small, and I probably will lose them, so I do recommend you snag a tw0-pack. The set comes with two sizes (small and large): Use the small one for a small tick, and the larger one for one that's more engorged. The instructions were simple: Center the prongs around the body of the tick and twist. That's it. That's the whole thing.

I put it away and almost forgot about it until my dog Frankie got a tick on her leg, so I grabbed the Tick Twister and twisted. Guess what? It got the tick out right away. My dog didn't even notice what I was doing (she didn't even flinch!) and it was a clean removal, head and all. It actually felt like I didn't do anything on the first try, so I was shocked to see the tick at the end of the prongs. When I say this was well worth the price, I couldn't mean it more. I immediately texted my mom and she ordered one, too because if you have a pet, this is a product worth ordering. I've done it a few times since, and it's just as easy every single time, and I couldn't be happier about it.

There are so many products out there for your dog — all with the intention of making your life easier and your pet's life better. Many of them don't live up to the hype. Thankfully, the Tick Twister absolutely does.
