In the mood for a happy ending? This one's guaranteed to make you root for dog rescues.
When the Los Angeles-based Hope for Paws animal rescue received a call about a stray dog with a broken leg living on the streets of Watts, California, rescue founder Eldad Hagar wasted no time in investigating.
After a search of the area, he located the dog, who had taken cover after an altercation broke out among some of the residents of the neighborhood earlier in the evening. Once Hagar lured the dog closer in with bits of food, he realized the broken leg wasn't broken at all. It was missing entirely.
Separated from the dog by a fence, Hagar struggled to coax the dog in close enough to loop a leash around his neck. Using a gentle snare, he was able to capture the little dog with hardly a struggle. After a few minutes, the lucky pooch was right at the fence getting a gentle scratch on the head.

After a car ride home and a warm bath, this little dog, named Watson, was well on his way to a much brighter future.
Little Watson has since found his forever home, which he shares with a Golden Retriever pal, and his days on the streets are barely a memory. A phone call from a concerned passerby and $2.00 cheeseburger, which is what Hagar used to lure Watson to him, saved this little dog's life.
It's a reminder just how little it takes to make a big difference.
