This Kitten and Owl Live at a Japanese Owl Cafe and You Will Fall in Love

Kitty and owlet live up to the age-old poem as they showcase their affection in Japan.

Fuku the owlet and Marimo the kitten live together in The Hukulou coffee shop and owl cafe in Osaka, Japan. Owl cafes are relatively common in Japan, a country known for its cute animal-themed eateries, from bunny cafes to hedgehog cafes.

The odd (but adorable) couple can often be spotted together at The Hukulou.

Fuku and Marimo are the best snuggle buddies...

And they're not afraid of a little PDA...

Reddit is so overwhelmed with their cuteness, that people have resorted to using all caps and squealing.

Many also reminisced about the nonsense children's poem "The Owl and the Pussy-Cat Go to Sea" written by Edward Lear in 1871. It of course details the maritime love of an owl and cat. Thankfully, the poem is available in the public domain, so we've copied it here for you below.

The Owl and the Pussy-Cat went to sea
   In a beautiful pea-green boat:
They took some honey, and plenty of money
Wrapped up in a five-pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
"O lovely Pussy, O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
            You are,
            You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!"

Pussy said to the Owl, "You elegant fowl,
   How charmingly sweet you sing!
Oh! let us be married; too long we have tarried,
But what shall we do for a ring?"
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the bong-tree grows;
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood,
With a ring at the end of his nose,
            His nose,
            His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.

"Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?" Said the Piggy, "I will."
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince and slices of quince,
   Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
            The moon,
            The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.

Did you ever hear that poem growing up?

The U.S. is even catching on to pet-inspired coffee shops and wine bars, like the proposed rescue cat wine bar in Denver. Both NYC and LA also made headlines with their dog cafes. What city will be next?

What animal cafe would you like to see in which city? Let's see what gets the most votes in the comments below!
