Need a lighthearted video in your life today? Something to put a smile on your face? This dog eating peanut butter ought to do the trick.
Dogs are great at always making us laugh. They're sweet and funny and often have awesome senses of humor. Dog videos are a great way to make any day better, and this video of a dog eating peanut butter is no exception.
Like many dogs, Opal loves peanut butter. And her owner just couldn't resist setting up this awesome scene so that Opal could polish off the end of a jar of peanut butter in style. Take a look and try not to laugh!
We love it - Opal is adorable, and is pretty impressively skilled at using a spoon, too!
If you'd like to treat your dog to some peanut butter, that's fine, but do so in moderation. Sudden changes to your dog's diet can upset his stomach, and you don't want a special treat to leave your dog feeling lousy with an upset stomach. Plus, you may not be aware of any food allergies yet, so starting with a small amount is best.
Try to select a natural brand of peanut butter. Many popular brands, like Jif, add sugar to their peanut butter, and too much sugar is a bad thing in any pup's diet. Also make sure there isn't the sugar substitute xylitol in the ingredients, which is often put in products for people with diabetes. Xylitol poisoning in dogs is very serious and can lead to liver failure in large amounts.
Peanut butter can be great as an occasional treat in small quantities; it's a good source of protein and healthy fats, vitamins B and E, and niacin, making it a popular go-to for dog owners. Spread it in a Kong to keep your dog occupied for hours, or use it to help give your pup medication.
