This adorable pair takes the term "seeing eye dog" to a whole new level.

When Hoshi, an American Eskimo dog, was stricken with glaucoma that caused constant pain in his eyes, his veterinary team determined that the only solution was to remove both of his eyes.

This was a tough decision for Hoshi's family to make, but they knew it was the only way to provide him with the best quality of life. Fortunately, Hoshi's family had a new addition to keep Hoshi company during his recovery.

Zen the Pomeranian was adopted six months before Hoshi's surgery, but it wasn't until after this life-changing event that their family realized it was one of the best decisions they had ever made.

While Hoshi was learning to adjust to his new life, Zen quickly assumed the role as his very own guide dog. With Zen's help, Hoshi was quickly able to return to his normal routine, taking on any challenge that the pair encounter.

When we say challenge, we really mean challenge. The pair spend their time hiking, camping, swimming, canoeing, and mountain climbing across the Pacific Northwest.

Their owner believes that the reason their relationship works so well if that the fluffy pair of complete faith in each other: Hoshi trusts Zen and Zen protects Hoshi. If that isn't the definition of friendship, we don't know what is!

If you'd like to follow Hoshi and Zen's adventures, follow them on Instagram. We're so glad you found each other Hoshi and Zen - keep on living life to the fullest!
