She was probably created by Ragdoll breeders who wanted to bring in additional colors and patterns by crossing their cats with other longhaired breeds such as Turkish Angoras, Persians, Birmans, and longhaired domestic cats.
The breed is recognized by the American Cat Fanciers Association, the American Association of Cat Enthusiasts, the Cat Fanciers Association and the Cat Fanciers Federation.
According to Hills Pets, the Ragamuffin cat needs interactive exercise in order to keep her in shape.
The coat on the Ragamuffin is easier to care for than it first appears. The coat should be brushed daily, but this should be all that is needed in order to keep knots and tangles out of the coat.

Hills Pet experts tell us the Ragamuffin comes in various colors and patterns. Some of these color patterns are the same as those of the ragdoll.
"The Ragamuffin with a color point pattern has a light body color with contrasting, darker, color on the extremities, mask and ears. The Bicolor Ragamuffin also exhibits dark points but will show an inverted V on the forehead with the stomach, all four legs, and the ruff being white."
