Whether you're an amateur hobbyist, an experienced herpetoculturist, or just looking to amuse yourself with something a little out of the ordinary, consider a trip to the the Hamburg Reptile Show in Hamburg, Pennsylvania.
Established in 1992, the long-running Hamburg Reptile Show takes place six times a year and features hundreds of tables of exotic reptile, amphibian, and arachnid species, including "hots" (venomous reptiles). Live animals and reptile-themed merchandise, including supplies and educational materials, are available for purchase at the expo.
For a small fee ($9 for everyone over age five), you'll get access to an incredible array of breeders and vendors from all across the country. You can learn from reptile experts, meet others who share your interest, and even purchase a new pet if you're so inclined.
There are a few things to know if you're interested in attending: the expo runs from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., and is located at 127 S Fourth St. in Hamburg, Pennsylvania.
There are no pets allowed at the Hamburg Reptile Show, so be sure to leave your non-human friends at home.
The expo dates for 2016 are as follows: Feb. 27, April 30, June 11, Aug. 6, Oct. 15, and Dec. 3.
