A woman from Petts Wood, south east London, woke up to find an urban fox in her cat's bed.

Meloney Blaze, 47, said:

"When I came downstairs, and walked passed the kitchen into the bathroom, I did a double take as in the kitchen window I could see a pair of huge ears. I thought, 'hmm, those are not the cat's ears,' and I turned the light on to look at what was in the cat's bed - and it was a fox."

Earlier that same day, around 4 am, Blaze woke up in the middle of the night and opened the kitchen window so her ginger cat George could go outside. While George was outside, the fox entered the home through the kitchen window and took up residence in George's bed.

Blaze said:

"He was very tame, he did not want to leave. George was outside the window and was not impressed, I had to let him in the bathroom window. He jumped on the side and leapt into action and was telling the fox off - he was even hissing at him, but the fox just looked at him."

According to Metro, Blaze considered grabbing a cooking implement to move the fox but didn't want to hurt the wild animal. She eventually managed to tip the cat bed over and send the unwanted visitor back out the window.

Blaze added:

"I quickly shut the window and it stood outside the window looking in. It was a very good-looking fox but stinky, and it frightened the life out of me."
