Huck the Roof Dog is his name.

Huckleberry is a Golden Retriever from Austin, Texas and he gets on the roof. And then he hangs out there as neighbors and passersby gape up at the pretty dog on top of a house. Maybe he likes the view, or the fresh air, but Huck is not in danger, and his owners want people to quit freaking out.

So much so, that there is now a sign in front of their door calming people that the dog is okay.

The sign reads:

"Huckleberry is living up to his name and learned how to jump onto our roof from the backyard. We never leave him in the backyard without someone being at home. He will not jump off unless you entice him with food or a ball!
We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door... we know he's up there! But please feel free to take pictures of him and share with the world! #hucktheroofdog."

And boy, are people using that hashtag. Huck the Roof Dog is becoming a small-town celebrity!

There's even art being made of this roof-lounging pupper.

Huck's owners told ABC News how the agile dog even gets up on the roof:

"There is about a 2 1/2 to 3 foot clearance between a hill in our backyard and the roof over our house. We wondered when he would figure it out. It took him about six months to figure out the roof was an extension of his backyard. He now goes up every single time we let him outside."

They don't leave him unsupervised; someone is always home when Huck is on the roof. Being a people-loving Golden Retriever, they suspect that Huck likes just watching his neighbors go about their days.

"He loves people, and I think he just loves watching over our house and meeting his neighbors."

Huck is on Instagram  and the hashtag #HucktheRoofDog is full of entertaining pictures of the dog chilling on the roof with a big smile on his face.

But don't worry, he's not in danger up there! He's just sticking to the town's mantra: Keep Austin Weird.
