Do you remember the scene in 'Rocky' when he talks about the two pet turtles, Cuff and Link? He refers to them as 'exotic animals' and then they make another appearance in Creed II. Sylvester Stallone posted a photo of himself on Instagram with these two turtles and they're now 44!
Cuff and Link are still alive and they were in the original Rocky film! They've been around since 1976 and even made a come back when the newer movies about Creed were filmed.
How long do turtles typically live?
According to a Bored Panda artictle, "an expert on Reddit explained, the turtle-actors are the so-called red-eared sliders (Trachemys scripta elegans) and usually live up to around 50 years old if they are well taken care of."
They're clearly doing well for their age and appearing in movies! Here's where they appeared in the original 'Rocky' film in a scene with Adrian.
The actor, 72, is a known animal lover. We're so happy to see a story about a celeb's famous turtle pals!
These two were his original buddies in the first 'Rocky' movie and we're thrilled that the actor provided an update for hardcore fans like us on his Instagram account! We know it's not a modern day miracle they're alive but they're pretty old turtles.
I always thought it was cool that character, Adrian Pennino, worked at a pet store in the movie. Hollywood did a great job with that part of the script. Hoping that Sylvester Stallone drops more behind the scene footage on his social media.
So his love interest was Adrian of course but these two turtles as well! 'Rocky' may be an old picture but it's still one of our all-time faves. If there is another 'Rocky' installment we hope Cuff and Link make another appearance.
He had a canine friend too! We learned that back when the film 'Rocky' was being made he also had a dog named Butkus who also appeared in a few of the 'Rocky' movies. His best friend was a bull mastiff. He had to sell him for some quick cash but given the script sold and become a blockbuster franchise, he was able to buy him back!
