A rescued Persian kitty got five pounds of fur sheared from his body and the second chance he deserves.
When 9-year-old Sinbad was found in the basement of an Illinois home earlier this year, one look revealed what appeared to be a lifetime of neglect, which the poor kitty wore as a shroud of matted fur.
His elderly owner agreed to surrender him to an area rescue, and with shears in hand, a dedicated team of rescuers took it from there.
"It took two sittings. The first took several hours and the second sitting took about 2 hours. He got tired after a while, but throughout the whole process came up to the people in the room looking for pets."
Slowly but surely, Sinbad began to emerge.
After their work was finally done, rescuers removed a total of five pounds of matted fur off of Sinbad's little body.
Sinbad apparently took a little time to warm up to his new surroundings but quickly got used to the love, attention, toys, and food that would become a part of his day-to-day life from here on out. He even found a foster home that would end up being his forever home.
