Spotted, doing good!
Guess who showed up and lent a helping hand at Austin Pets Alive? None other than Oscar-winning, Texas-native Renee Zellweger. With no announcement, media endorsement, or coverage, which is rare these days with celebrities, Zellweger spent the day at the pet shelter in Austin, Texas folding laundry, cleaning crates, and playing with dogs.
Austin Pets Alive, still reeling from the Hurricane Harvey rescue efforts, needs all the volunteers willing to help, famous or not! The shelter ended up taking in 2,000 displaced pets from the disaster. Two temporary shelter warehouses have been set up around the city to house the pets.

Zellweger grew up in Katy, Texas and attended the University of Texas in Austin. She was a big help at the shelter in Austin on Wednesday and joins celebrities like Chelsea Handler and Diplo in giving specifically to Austin Pets Alive.
Thanks Chelsea Handler and Diplo for supporting #APAHarvey!! How cool is that?
Renee is back!
After leaving Austin with eight dogs to find them forever homes in Los Angeles, Renee Zellweger returned to Texas to help with Houston Pets Alive. Again, she was secretly giving a helping hand until someone noticed her and told founder Andrea Birkelbach.
"Just so you know," the volunteer said, "Renee Zellweger is over there cleaning kennels and doing your laundry."
Between the efforts of Austin Pets Alive and Houston Pets Alive, more than 2,500 animals have been rescued from Hurricane Harvey devastation. The help from thousands of volunteers, including Renee Zellweger, has not gone unnoticed.
