Pumba the bombproof horse is back with another video, and this time she's showing us how she handles camels and trailer loading.
First of all, we're shocked that this bombproof mare hasn't sold by now. Seriously, what more could anyone want in a horse? She's willing to wear shopping bags and tote a chicken around. She's also happy to jump a course while surrounded by dirt bikes and playing children.
But when an interested buyer asked Pumba's owner if the mare would load in a straight load trailer, and if she liked llamas, well, clearly another video had to be created.
A potential buyer asked me, if Pumba would load in a straight load float (trailer) and does she like llamas? Well I did not know the answer to either of those but due to time constraints we thought we’d test both out together. Unfortunately, Pumba's owner didn't have any llamas handy, but she did have a camel--sort of. And if you ask us, the camel steals the show. Seriously, did you watch the trailer loading attempts? And the amazing jumping footage? That camel might be the best bombproofing technique for any horse.
With a bit of work, time, and patience, you can often train a spooky horse to be calmer in various situations. You'll need to gain the horse's trust and then gradually expose them to objects that they would find frightening, like tarps and umbrellas. Or you can buy a horse who's already pretty laid-back and non-reactive. Like Pumba.
So if you're looking for a calm horse that is willing to take absolutely anything in stride, Pumba's your girl. Contact Brookby Heights International if you're interested in her (heads up, she's in New Zealand). But please, nobody buy her too soon. These videos are the best, and we want to see what else is in store for Pumba!
