Pet Lizard Mimics Owner When He Actually Waves Back

Lizard waving

There are cool pet tricks, and then there is this pet lizard, who actually returns his owner's wave.

Dogs learn to sit, shake, and lay down. Horses bow, paw, and shake their heads on command. Even aloof cats learn things like sitting, fetching, and high-fiving. But none of it is quite as impressive as this pet lizard, who has somehow learned to mimic his owner's wave.

Lizards have many great qualities as pets, but it's probably fair to say that most pet lovers don't find them to be especially interactive. They can be fun to watch in their terrariums, fun to feed, and fun to hold. But after that, what else can you really do with a pet lizard?

Apparently you can teach it to wave, the way someone taught this pet lizard. Check out his amazing trick!

It's an incredible display of intelligence. After the owner starts waving, you can see the moment when the lizard looks over and notices the cue, considers it, and then decides to move forward into a better position to wave back.

It really makes you wonder what else lizards can learn!
