Samuel L. Jackson may have been missing, but there was definitely a snake on this plane.

"Snakes on a Plane" came and went as one of the most... unique... movies to date. It didn't quite create public pandemonium akin to "Jaws," but it did result in countless memes.

A Ravn Alaska flight took off last week when, mid-air, a snoozing snake was discovered under a row of seats. Appropriate "Snakes on a Plane" jokes have ensued.

The snake had been the illegal carryon passenger of a man on the previous flight. The man had not declared the reptile prior to boarding, and apparently crept through security without batting any eyes.

Upon landing at his destination in Aniak, Alaska, the man noticed his pet was missing and promptly told airline officials. The pilot announced the news to passengers in-flight, alerting them that there was indeed a snake loose, but its whereabouts were unknown.

Then a young boy on the small seven-passenger plane pointed to the creature curled up in a corner, unsure of what it was.

The snake was more keen on taking a nap than bothering anyone. And, unlike the sci-fi/horror flick, this snake didn't pack any venomous threat to its passengers. And no one panicked. Instead, intrigue was high on their list of emotions.

A flight attendant held a bag while a passenger scooped up the reptile. The snake then hung out in overhead storage until the flight landed in Anchorage.

We might not ever know if pigs can fly, but now we know that snakes can. We also know that it doesn't necessarily take Samuel L. Jackson to wrangle a snake on a plane.
