They may make for an odd-looking pair, but rescue dog Minnow and rescue turkey Blossom are the best of friends.
According to The Dodo, Blossom was rescued from a factory farm in West Virginia at the age of five weeks and made her way into the hands of a rescue organization after a kind farmer found the scared baby bird hiding (which ultimately saved her from the slaughterhouse). Now, Blossom spends her days with her new best friend - a plucky little pup named Minnow.
Minnow made her way to adopter Abbie Hubbard when she was rescued from the Korean dog meat trade market in 2015. Safe and sound, the pair spends their days cuddling, playing, and basically going everywhere together.
Blossom isn't Minnow's first avian friend. Before the turkey came to live with Hubbard, Minnow spent her days with a chicken pal Chickpea, who was rehomed after Hubbard learned that Chickpea was a rooster, which unfortunately conflicted with some zoning laws.
While the decision to say goodbye was a tough one, Chickpea is now living out his days at a sanctuary for rescued farm animals where Hubbard gets to visit him every week.
Although a new friendship is never a replacement for a former pal, Minnow and Blossom are said to be super close and enjoy lounging around Hubbard's home, along with a couple of African grey parrots, a parakeet, and a hermit crab.
