Golden Retriever Opens NHL Game with an Adorable Game of Fetch on the Ice

This Golden Retriever was hands down the MVP of the Washington Capitals game against the Arizona Coyotes this past Saturday.

A police officer and a Golden Retriever played a game of fetch with the puck prior to the first period of last weekend's NHL game in Washington, D.C.

The officer threw the puck from one end of the ice to the other, while his furry companion expertly followed it, without slipping too much. Anyone who has tried to walk on ice without skates knows just how difficult this is, so we're very impressed with this dog's ability to make it down the ice without a serious slip or fall.

This dog looks like he would have been content to continue this game all night, but alas, the actual hockey game had to begin.

Based on this dog's success on the ice, perhaps it's time that the NHL introduced a few four-legged members to their teams!
