A new app for dog lovers can help to make dogs happier and healthier - all for free.
Have you ever wished you could track your dog's health and behavior to make dogs happier and healthier? Thanks to a team from the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Sydney University, now there's an app for that. The app, DogLogBook, is available for iOS and Android, and best of all, it's free!
DogLogBook allows dog owners to easily log and track information which could be valuable in helping to make dogs happier, as well as in identifying potential medical issues.
Paul McGreevy of the Sydney University Veterinary Department decided to create the app because he wanted a way to access the information that dog owners don't often track and record. Information such as changes in activity level or repeated behavioral issues can be valuable in diagnosing and identifying medical issues.
DogLogBook tracks a ton of information. Owners can input medical data like the dates their dog received heartworm medications or vaccinations. Owners can also track a dog's activity level, making sure that the dog gets enough exercise on a regular basis.
As owners input notes about a dog's activities, they can track which types of activities the dog enjoys the most, making for a happier dog.
But that's not all - the app provides valuable guidance on socializing a dog. The app offers a 14-week socialization program designed to help socialize puppies, working dogs, farm dogs, and more. Because this app has different tracks, it can be useful whether you live in the city, the country, or somewhere in between.
As you socialize your dog, you can check off items from a list of socialization tasks that the app suggests, such as exposing your dog to other dogs, people, and even horses.
This app's versatility could be a great asset to dog lovers. Will you be giving it a try? Be sure to learn more on the app's website!
