Thank you, Miranda Lambert! We love her country music and constant support for animals in need. This may not seem like a big deal but it IS.
She's a country superstar but we think of her as an animal lover. Lambert's 'MuttNation Foundation' was founded in 2009 to improve the lives of shelter pets. They encourage the adoption of shelter pets! As part of its 2019 'Mutts Across America' campaign, they've awarded $150,000 in grants to 50 shelters in 50 states. The selection criteria is fabulous and Miranda is our fave country artists as a result.

One example of a recipient using their grant is a shelter in Massachusetts!
The Scituate Animal Shelter of Massachusetts is waiving adoption fees through July 19 to encourage folks to come in and adopt this summer. We included their Facebook post thanking her below!
CBS News reports after an interview that this shelter struggles over the summer when it comes to adoptions.
"Summer is the slowest time for adoptions and we have a shelter that is absolutely full," the shelter explained. "Our pets are hoping against hope that you will come and take them home!"
Lambert has eight rescue dogs of her own!

"Over the last 10 years, the MuttNation Foundation has successfully raised millions of dollars to aid organizations, government institutions and entities that build animal shelters for better care and increased pet adoption."
