In the city that never sleeps, one pup is prompting New Yorkers to slow their roll and share a hug.
Just a hop and a skip away from the stress of Union Square, certain New Yorkers are taking a minute to enjoy the loving company of a gorgeous Goldie named Louboutina. Blessed with a knack for spotting hug-hungry humans, the five-year-old city girl is warming hearts, and making waves with her selfless acts of kindness.
"A lot of people say she's made their day," owner Cesar Fernandez-Chavez, tells The New York Post.
"Like, if they had a bad day at work, maybe that's just what they needed."
Now a fixture in their New York neighborhood, Fernandez-Chavez says that a walk with his playful pal can take up to two hours when factoring in the time it takes to stop and say hello to just about everyone they pass.
Louboutina, named after French designer Christian Louboutin, was never taught to hug, yet the trait sort of evolved on its own, stemming from the dog's love of holding hands.
Following their walks, Louboutina would often extend a paw as a way of saying "thank you" to her two-legged counterpart. Now, the affectionate girl simply perches up on her hind legs and reaches her arms out to fully embrace anyone in need of some unconditional love!
Fernandez-Chavez and Louboutina can usually be found walking through Chelsea around 8 a.m., and again around 5:30, but if you want to schedule a one-on-one appointment, you can email the pair directly at [email protected]
