Man Arrested After Woman's Dog Found Beheaded and In a Box

This act of animal cruelty is added to our list as one of the worst acts we've heard of to date. The reason for this crime? A woman missed her rent. Yes, she MISSED her rent and her dog was killed. Let's unpack this one without using any profanity.

A man was arrested for beheading and mutilating a woman's dog. He put her dog's head in a box and in the trunk of the woman's car. This all happened while she was moving her belongings off of her property and she lost track of her dog. She found her headless dog after opening the box when friends saw him load something suspicious into her car. He did this because she missed her rent as the two shared a home in a Phoenix suburb.

Can you imagine? She opened the box to find her "dead, mutilated, headless dog inside," according to police.

ABC News reported that 21-year-old Jose Vega Meza was booked for animal cruelty.

"Police in the city of Buckeye said Sunday that 21-year-old Jose Vega Meza was booked into jail on suspicion of two counts of animal cruelty and a count of misdemeanor assault for an alleged attack on another inmate."

He smiled and laughed after he put the box in the woman's car. He also killed other animals in the neighborhood. In a report by Fox10, he told the police,

"I know what I did wasn't right."

He can get up to a maximum of three years in prison. Are three years enough?

This incident happened in a Phoenix suburb in Arizona.

Vega Meza's mother owns the house where the victim had been living, according to a Buckeye police spokeswoman.
