It's been an emotional two weeks for Jessica Alba and her family.
The popular actress known for her 2016 role in "Mechanic: Resurrection" and classics like "Honey" and "Never Been Kissed" announced on Instagram her dog named Bowie passed away on Sunday.
"Came home to a dog less home- our sweet girl Bowie is now resting in peace with her sister Sidders. It's been a rough two weeks. Will cherish our last night cuddling forever. Bowemeister was the sweetest love bug. RIP Bowie."
The heartbreaking news comes only two weeks after Sid, the family's beloved Pug, died. With both dogs passing in such a short time frame, Alba--who is pregnant with her third child--admits her family is feeling the strain of their losses.
Bowie, a female American Bull Dog, was a rescue named after one of Alba's idols, David Bowie. The sweet rescue dog loved to cuddle with Alba's two daughters and was frequently seen with the family in public. The active pup kept Alba fit and healthy during her second pregnancy in 2011 and has been a valued family member.
Alba's touching Instagram tribute chronicles Bowie's life from tiny rescue puppy to full-grown cuddle bug. Thousands of fans have reached out to share in her grief, and a few famous friends are among the well wishers. Gwyneth Paltrow commented,
"No! This is so sad. Sending you all the love."
Bowie and Sid are together again, and Jessica Alba and her family won't forget the impact their beloved pets had on their lives.
