It's hard to keep things serious when your relationship is this adorable.
Conservation Officer Levi Knach and his partner, K-9 Kenobi are both members of Indiana's Department of Natural Resources (DNR) law enforcement agency. They work together on a daily basis to locate missing persons, find criminal evidence, and search for illegally-held wildlife. Kenobi uses his powerful sense of smell to help his partner and the rest of the team protect the people and natural resources on conserved Indiana land.
Officer Knach and Kenobi rely on each other when they're out on the job, and they've formed a special bond. When DNR picture day came around, no one thought twice about including Kenobi in his partner's portrait.
Officer Knach was all business when he sat down in front of the camera, but Kenobi didn't show the same restraint. He covered his friend in appreciative kisses while the photographer caught the adorable moment on camera. Knach couldn't help but smile as his canine buddy refused to cooperate. The working dog was too busy showing his love to care about looking "official," and we couldn't be happier about it.
K-9 Kenobi is a sweet pup with a knack for impeding productivity, but don't be fooled by his goofy demeanor. The Indiana State Parks system said in a Facebook post that he's a well-trained working officer. He plays an invaluable role on the DNR team and has had a successful career.
DNR posted the photos of the adorable partnership on their Facebook page, and they soon went viral. After a bit of time, the crime-fighting duo did manage to get an official-looking shot, but we can all agree that the kissing poses are our favorite.
