Hope Springs Eternal: Wounded Street Dog Wags His Tail When Rescuers Arrive

Posted by TF Oren

Animal Aid Unlimited rescue workers wasted no time responding to a call about a downed stray dog that had been hit by a car.

When rescuers arrived, they found the gravely wounded dog. His head, legs, and inner thighs were bloody. Despite his predicament, the dog wagged his tail; he seemed to know they were there to help.

An Animal Aid worker wrapped the dog in a blanket and transported him to the Animal Aid rescue facility.

There, they sedated the dog and began treating the deep lacerations covering his body. The wounds were infected, and he received antibiotics.

The stress and exhaustion from his ordeal wore on him, and all he could do was sleep. Finally, after two long months of a difficult recovery, the pooch, named Goldie, was a brand new dog!

Today, Goldie is a healthy, playful, loving dog who will live out his days in the company of other animals rescued by Animal Aid Unlimited.
