Many pet owners are warned about treats that are super high in calories. It's so easy to give your cat a treat anytime they do something cute, or just because you feel like it. Cat treats can have an unhealthy impact on your cat. If you noticed that your cat might be gaining too much weight, it might be time to add healthy cat treats to your cat's diet. One way to do that is to make your own homemade treats!
We found a few DIY tuna cat treat recipes that your feline friends will flip out about. This is one that our cats enjoy, and the whole recipe (prep and baking) only took about 40 minutes. To personalize the recipe, we used a cute bone cutter.

Homemade cat treats are super easy once you have a few recipes that become your go-to recipes. We even found a few recipes for catnip! Tuna treats seem to be the treat of choice for our felines as any canned tuna in our house makes us very popular.
Just open a can of tuna if you're not sure they like the favor and let them try it!
TIP: You can use a baking sheet instead of parchment paper. Any canned tuna will work fine.
I am called a crazy cat lady from time to time! There are many cat treats recipes on Pinterest you should consider. This is one of maybe a hundred recipes we found that take under an hour. The total time (includes prep time) was around 40-45 minutes and that's mostly baking time. We created small bite-size pieces and we even substituted some of their dinners so these weren't just extra calories. They're yummy crunchy tuna cat treats!
You can substitute the flour for whole wheat flour if you prefer. We stored these DIY cat treats in airtight containers.
A healthy cat is a happy cat! Cat treats made from natural ingredients can help keep your pet in the best shape.
