Great Dane Competes with Internet for Owner's Attention

Posted by Paige Cerulli

When this Great Dane wants her owner's attention, she knows just how to compete with Internet videos.

Meet Briva. Briva is a 10-year-old Great Dane, and she loves attention, like most dogs do. Briva knows that when her owner is watching videos on the Internet, he's not paying attention to her, so she decides to do something about that.

Briva has no hesitation in plopping her giant paw down in her owner's lap, and look at those eyes - she's mastered the art of begging and looking absolutely adorable. She knows just how to get her owner's attention.

Take a look at this cute video. Would you ever be able to watch videos rather than focusing on this beautiful Great Dane?

Most dogs love attention, and some will do just about anything to get it. While this may result in cute behaviors like Briva's, some dogs take it too far and the behaviors turn negative, like incessantly barking or destroying household items.

Does your dog constantly try to capture your attention? It may help to give your dog clear periods where your attention is totally focused on him. Make sure that your dog gets plenty of exercise and playtime each day, and give him the love and attention that he needs.

Sometimes dogs go overboard, though, and you can't pay attention to your dog every second of the day. This is where setting boundaries becomes important. Providing your dog with a play area of his own where he can go during these times may help to keep him from working to get your attention. If your dog's behavior proves challenging, then it's best to consult with a professional trainer who can help guide you about how to handle the issue.

So, did you enjoy the video? Now take some time away from the Internet and go give your pets some attention.
