Olly may have had the lowest point score, but in our hearts he's the true winner of this agility competition.
There's enthusiastic, and then there's enthusiastic. Olly the Jack Russell Terrier is enthusiastic. Olly has so much energy, in fact, that it's a little too much for this agility competition - and that's saying something. Agility courses are the perfect way for high-energy dogs to get a chance to run around at full speed. And while Olly has the enthusiasm and energy, he doesn't quite have the focus needed to do the job.
But one thing's for sure: Olly puts in the most entertaining round of the night. Not only does he take a digger on one of the first jumps, but he goes on to miss obstacles entirely and launches himself over others. In short, he's hilarious. We can only imagine what this high-energy pup is like at home!
You have to see Olly's amazing agility competition run for yourself.
Canine agility is a super fun sport to get involved with, and many dogs love it. It gives dogs plenty of exercise, but obedience training is also an important aspect of agility. You'll get to build your relationship with your dog as you train, and can gradually advance on to more challenging obstacles and faster run times.
If you'd like to get started with agility, it's best to look for a dog trainer or agility group which can help you to get started. Experienced agility handlers can show you how to start training your dog, and most groups and trainers will have agility equipment that you can use so you don't have to buy or build your own equipment right away.
Will you and your dog be giving agility a try?
