WATCH NOW: Photos on Dog Toys Helps Millie Miss Her Dad Less
When a senior pup became depressed over her owner's temporary absence, her two-legged sister gave her the next best thing: toys with his face on them!
Even though her dog dad was only away for a couple of weeks on a work trip, a senior pooch named Millie felt the loss right away. Usually a happy girl, her separation anxiety kicked into high gear as soon as he left, and depression took over, preventing her from eating, and playing.
Millie, who was adopted from an area shelter four years ago, has unending love and appreciation for her new caretaker, and can usually be found by his side wherever he goes. With her best friend now MIA, she was lost.
After noticing that hearing his voice over the phone only made her feel worse, her two-legged sister Carolann came up with an idea that changed everything: she printed out photos of her dad's face, cut them out, and taped them to stuffed toys, so the sad senior could see her papa again!
"I thought it would be a funny alternative to print his face off, laminate it and attach it to something," she said in an interview with The Dodo.
"My sister's old room is full of toys so I figured those would be the best option."

The unconventional plan paid off, and after a few sniffs, Millie was back to her old self again, happy with her dad's new body double, which she reportedly plays and sleeps with them to keep her company until his eventual return.
In the meantime, Millie is all smiles.
