While this dog's owner likely put in the pool and water slide for their own enjoyment, this dog clearly can't get enough of either of them.
Many dogs like pools, especially when they're the place where everyone hangs out all summer. Some dogs will even swim or play fetch in pools. On occasion, they'll play with the pool floats and pool toys. But that's not enough for this dog. No, this dog loves the water slide.
The dog in this video, a Doberman, has discovered the delight in half-running, half-sliding down the water slide and plunging into the pool. Within seconds, he's out of the pool so that he can do it again. And again. And again.
We'd say that his owner's decision to invest in the pool and the water slide is a good one - the dog will get plenty of use out of them, even if no one else does.
Going for a swim in the pool can be a good way for dogs to cool off in the summer, but make sure that they don't drink the pool water. You'll also want to hose your dog off or bathe him after he's done swimming so that the chlorine doesn't stay in his fur.
Be sure to never leave your dog alone around the pool, just in case he should jump in and not be able to get out again.
There are other great ways to cool your dog down during the summer, even if you don't have a pool. Consider setting up a sprinkler in your yard and letting your dog play with it. You can also give your dog frozen treats as a nice way to cool down.
Take your dog swimming at a local pond, or play around with the hose for a while. On super-hot days your dog may prefer to stay inside in front of a fan or air conditioner. Your dog can cool down and have fun, just like the dog in this video does.
