Pet owners are getting into the spirit of Halloween by carving jack o' lanterns inspired by their four-legged friends!
Pumpkin carving is one of the most fun things to do around Halloween. It is also an activity the whole family can enjoy, four-legged friends included.
Some pet owners are choosing to honor their pets by carving jack o' lanterns of their four-legged friends, and the results are pretty impressive, such as this creation inspired by Sophie the Pomeranian.
Penned by Andy Manoloff, this work was made possible by a pumpkin stencil and an Exacto knife and took 20 hours to finish.

"She's been through everything with me and I just thought it'd be fun to see her on one of my pumpkins," Manoloff said of Sophie, in an interview with Country Living.
If this is your first time working with a gourd medium, Manoloff suggests starting off simple and working your way up to the finer details.
If shadows and facial details seem like too much, an outline works just as well. There are dog breed stencils to help make a dog jack-o-lantern. Whether you have a Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Jack Russell Terrier, German Shepherd, Scottish Terrier, or anything in between, they're likeness can be carved into a pumpkin.
You might even win your pumpkin carving contest!
Looking to keep the fun going? Don't forget to wash and cook the pumpkin seeds in the oven for all the family to enjoy.
If you don't want your furry muse eating pumpkin seeds, you can pick up some canned pumpkin and bake some tasty dog treats, as pumpkin has many health benefits, particularly for pups who may be experiencing digestive discomforts.
