This goat baby was born with one eye and one ear, and is actually quite healthy.
Defying all chances of survival, a little goat born in the Indian state of Assam only has a single eye, and single ear.
Dubbed the "Cyclops goat," this animal is right out of a mythical fairytale.
The goat was born on May 10 with a condition called cyclopia, a birth defect where the brain's hemispheres do not separate, resulting in a single eye socket and often nasal cavity.
The odds of cyclopia are 1 in every 16,000 born animals and chances of survival after birth are minimal. That's why villagers are coming from far and wide to see this one-eyed goat, claiming it is a "blessing."
"I was shocked. It's like a miracle and people have been coming to our place to see this baby goat," the goat's owner told Barcroft TV.
"It might be something from God that the baby goat was born in our house."
The goat is being fed and nursing normally, even though the kid is missing teeth and its upper jaw is shorter than usual. It is surprisingly healthy, if not very small, but it remains to be seen if it will survive.
