The most wonderful day of the year took place this past weekend, and 200 Bernese Mountain Dogs came out to celebrate.
Every year, the town of Breckenridge, CO, goes to the dogs when they host the Breckenridge Holiday Dog Parade. For years, dog lovers have been ringing in the holiday season with their best friends joining in on the fun. Walkers in the parade - two and four-legged - march down Main Street to the tune of Christmas carols every first Saturday in December.
What's better than one Bernese Mountain Dog? 200! These pups (paired with a gaggle of Santas) took to the streets in Breckenridge for the annual Lighting of Breckenridge festival on Saturday. Can you spot Parker the Snow Dog?

The Colorado Bernese Mountain Dog Meetup Group loans its fame, as the largest Berner meetup in the world, to bring in dogs from all across the state. Old dogs, young dogs - they're all on the nice list. Dogs dressed in Santa suits and elf costumes, pull wagons and mingle with all of Santa's little helpers.
This year, the group of dogs and their owners set off down the road at 4 p.m. on Dec. 2 and made it to the town's official Christmas tree in time to see it lit for the first time this year. The 200 Bernese Mountain Dogs definitley stole the show, but all furry friends were welcome. Dogs of all sizes and breeds took photos with fans and reveled in the holiday cheer.
Local hotels opened their doors to all of the dogs who invaded the town, and the dog-loving celebrations lasted long after the tree was lit. Now that the celebration is over, it's time to start counting down the days till next year's Holiday Dog Parade.
