Jokgu the chicken proves that chickens are much smarter than most people give them credit for with her beautiful rendition of Puccini's "O Mio Babbino Caro" on the keyboard.
Jokgu is part of The Flockstars, an all-chicken band that hails from Maryland. A two-year-old buff Brahma Bantam chicken, she first became popular when the video of her playing "America the Beautiful" went viral.
Since then, she has appeared on various TV shows, including America's Got Talent, and has been featured in numerous news articles. She even has her own line of e-greeting cards and apparel.
This incredible video of her playing a beautiful aria was originally published in April on the Two Creative Chicks YouTube channel.
Check it out below:
It's obvious that this special keyboard helps Jokgu out by lighting up the correct keys in red, but don't let that diminish your amazement of this impressive feat. Two Creative Chicks addressed this concern in one of the video comments:
"...the keyboard does the lighting of the keys by a program that uses a midi file. We have worked with training her and conditioning her with positive reinforcement to hit those lighted keys consistently and try to do so with nice timing. Not as easy as it looks."
It's clear that chickens are much smarter than most people think. However, it's probably safe to say that Jokgu is also one-of-a-kind! Follow Jokgu on her Facebook page and catch more of her and her bandmates under the handle Two Creative Chicks.
