Trump is "a Retriever guy," Cesar Millan says.
Dog behaviorist Cesar Millan, best known for his National Geographic show "Dog Whisperer," thinks a White House dog might benefit new President Trump.
As he walked down the streets of Beverly Hills, he gave his thoughts on the subject to a TMZ photographer.
"A dog does bring a lot of joy to a lot of people, and as you know, dogs don't know that you're the President of the United States," he said.
Millan, who worked with Trump many years ago, did express concern that the new President may not have time for a dog.
"He's a busy guy, so it's best not to have a dog," Millan said.
However, if someone else could help care for the dog, he has an opinion on the breed of dog Trump should get, pegging Trump as "a Retriever guy."
"Any animal humanizes people," he said.
Maybe that's why every president since Theodore Roosevelt has had a White House dog.
