This girl and her cat are sailing around the world together and having incredible adventures.
Many people dream of traveling the world, but San Diego native Liz Clark is actually doing it aboard an 11 by 40-foot boat called Swell.
Best of all? Her cat Amelia is along for the ride.
Clark, who has dreamed of sailing around the world since childhood, found and adopted Amelia when the cat was just six months old.
"She has adapted to living surrounded by water," Clark told BuzzFeed. "She's learned to trust that she will be safe with me."
Clark worked on Swell for two years before the boat was seaworthy, setting sail from California in 2005. Since then she has logged over 18,000 nautical miles, traveling along the western coast of Mexico and Central America, as well as to the South Pacific.
"I sleep on a pool mat under the stars," Clark said. "But I feel rich when I look up at that night sky and breath the fresh ocean air and leap into the sea each morning."
"On calm nights, she fishes off of a soft top surfboard attached to the side of Swell with a small light that attracts fish," Clark said.
Amelia's other favorite activities include going for walks on the beach and hikes in the mountains, as well as riding in cars, motorbikes, and canoes.
"She has to go out of a cat comfort zone often," Clark said "But I think she now understands that I will keep her safe and she will have a lot of fun in the end. She makes Swell feel much more like a home."
