Dream Airbnb Alert: Hang Out with Alpacas on This Working Ranch for $74/Night

"Alpaca Ranch with a beautiful view" is the listing on Airbnb's site. Sign me up! I love alpacas and if my husband agreed to adopt two, they would already be living out on our pasture. We are at the moment sticking to chicken keeping only which means this vacation is officially on my short list of places to visit.

Most people look for a vacation home that matches their personality and lifestyle. This working ranch in California is literally a dream vacation for any animal lover looking for a place to stay over a long weekend. The ranch is home to other animals, including horses, chickens, dogs, and cats. It's just about ten minutes from downtown Paso Robles which sits at the border where northern San Luis Obispo County and southern Monterey County meet.

Let's unpack this. On Airbnb's site, the ranch description is,

"Country living where the roads are dusty in the dry summer months. Private entrance to your room with a private bath located just across the hall from the room. A variety of bread, bagels, fruit, and yogurt provided. We are NOT walking distance to town but an easy Uber or Lyft drive away if you plan on wine tasting."

For $74 a night this ranch is super affordable. Between the alpacas and wine tasting, just an Uber ride away, it sounds like a wonderful long weekend destination! This couple thought so:

If you want to change your life, visit an alpaca farm. You'll start dreaming of moving to a property with pasture for your new alpacas. Then you'll start thinking through the ways you can sell all that alpaca fiber as a new revenue stream. Alpaca products will become the new gifts you buy for friends and then you're an alpaca addict.

My fave alpaca breed? There are two types of breeds.

Huacaya alpacas are fluffy like teddy bears and Suri alpacas have long shiny locks like very soft, slightly curly hair. I prefer fluffy teddy bears.

Alpaca owners love to educate anyone that wants to know about these beautiful animals! You can talk to them about their breeding program, breeding stock and discover what only Alpaca breeders know about the industry. You'll be an expert!

On the Airbnb listing, there are raving reviews from people that stayed and enjoyed the ranch,

"I've stayed in many Airbnb's and this one has absolutely outshined them all. Daphne's directions for starters were perfect. She welcomed us into her home with such a warm demeanor. Walked us around the ranch, showed us her alpacas, gave us many tips. There was such attention to detail. This part was unmatched. She had everything you could possibly want and need. Delicious bagels, water, a coffee machine, toaster, fruits, juices, etc. The farm was beautiful, their animals were all amazing and I can't wait to be back!! Thanks again Daphne and Ray!"

Check out the owner's response!

"Liz, Thank you so much for your kind review. This is our slice of heaven and we love sharing it. It is the country life, but close to so many comforts of the city. Very special to us, and we love sharing it. This time of the year is so beautiful. So glad you were able to experience it!"
If you made it this far in the article, then I know you'll be booking your trip soon. I'm already looking at my calendar!
