Our dogs often seem to enjoy snow even more than kids, and this black Lab has perfected his body sliding technique!
Remember how exciting snow days were when you were a kid? You would beg your parents to get dressed so you could go sledding, and every pass down that hill was even more fun than the previous one had been. There's something entrancing about sliding down a hill of snow, and the black Lab in this video agrees wholeheartedly.
You won't be able to help but smile when you watch this black Lab's utter delight in the slippery snow on this hill. He quickly discovers that when he flops on his side and wiggles his legs a bit, he slides. And then he decides to do it again and again and again.
Many dogs absolutely love snow, and there are lots of things that you can do with your dog on a snowy day. If you take your dog sledding with you, then make sure that you keep him safely out of the path of oncoming sledders. Your dog may discover that he can even use his own body to go sledding, especially if the snow is compact and a bit icy on top.
Many dogs enjoy having you toss snowballs for them. If you toss snowballs, then make the snowballs yourself - never throw a pre-existing snowball which could contain ice, rocks, or other items.
Once you're done playing in the snow with your dog, check his paws for cuts or for built-up ice. Ice can irritate your dog's paws, so remove any ice balls and clean and treat any cuts that you find. You'll also want to offer your dog plenty of water to drink - playing in the snow is intense physical activity, and he'll probably be thirsty once he comes back inside.
