Just when you thought you'd seen it all, along comes a two-legged Chihuahua and his best friend...a chicken.
Alicia Williams had no idea what was in store when she rescued Penny the Silkie chicken from a testing facility.
Just a few months later, Williams, an animal hospital employee, adopted Roo, a two-legged Chihuahua who had been found abandoned in a ditch.
Penny and Roo, who uses a wheelchair while he's out and about, bonded immediately. They've been inseparable ever since.
They go to the park together, eat together, and even accompany Williams to work each day. Even though the animal hospital got a few more chickens to make Penny feel at home, she seems to prefer the company of her canine pal.
Check out this amazing animal friendship!
Roo's disability doesn't seem to slow him down one bit, and with his best friend constantly by his side, life's pretty sweet.
This dynamic duo of fur and feathers is a great testament to the fact that true friendship transcends just about anything, and that rescuing an animal might just be the best decision you ever make.
