Our Hero: 7th Grader Donates County Fair Livestock Winnings of $15,000 to St. Jude

We love stories about kids that donate to their winnings to a good cause! Some are donating a hog that sells at the fair and others like Diesel Pippert are donating all their winnings.

This young man is a 7th grader and donated all of his livestock premiums to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the Huron County Fair large animal sale.

His donation of $15,000 will help to find cures for young children and save lives. The Western Reserve Schools district is calling him a hero in their Facebook post below.

We've had a few opportunities to write stories this summer about young children raising money to make sure animals and humans are taken care of and we are so grateful this is where their priorities are at such a young age.

Check this out! Another Ohio boy decided to donate his earnings from the sale of his hog to St. Jude! The Fox 8 News story reports that during the Medina county fair, many 4-H members show their animals that they have spent months raising.

The goal is to get it to proper weight and they are able to sell at auction and hopefully, the proceeds pay for the cost of that animal and all that feed.

"One day my parents just asked me, well asked me and (my brother) Logan if we wanted to keep the money for our pigs or donate it, and we said donate the money."

The decision was made to donate the proceeds from the auction to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He hoped to raise about $1,000.
