Dogs are shameless when it comes to wearing the "cone of shame."
Humans have the walk of shame; dogs have the cone of shame. E-collars, as the plastic lampshades are medically termed, are modeled by canines post-surgery. It keeps them from licking their stitches, and hopefully out of trouble.
The cone of shame helps dogs heal, but it also makes life adorably tricky for them. Everyday activities like eating, playing fetch, and romping around the house become difficult tasks. And sometimes, owners get a little creatively carried away with their pet's e-collar.
As they say in the veterinary world, "It's all fun and games until someone ends up in a cone." Leave it to our tenaciously spirited canine companions to show us perseverance--and how to shamelessly sport the cone of shame.
