Food isn't the only thing this celebrity chef is passionate about.

Dedicated dog mom and celebrity chef, Rachael Ray is doing her part to help the animals affected by Hurricane Harvey by donating $1 million raised by her foundation -- which collects a portion of proceeds from her dog food company, Nutrish -- to benefit animal rescue.

The chef announced the donation earlier this week on her Instagram page.

"Thanks to your support of our @Nutrish brands, we are able to donate $1 million today, through The Rachael Ray Foundation, to help support various animal welfare organizations who are actively working in Texas and Louisiana to care for animals displaced by Hurricane Harvey. $100,000 donations have been made to @SPCATexas and @AustinPetsAlive!, who are already providing disaster relief to animals in need. We will continue our commitment to work with national and local organizations to assess needs and provide the additional earmarked funds. Thank you to all who are donating their time, effort and money as goodwill to our neighbors is most important during times like these." -RR [Photo credit Austin Pets Alive!] #hurricaneharvey

Through November 2016, Rachael's Rescue -- which Ray created for all of the forgotten pets -- has donated more than $15 million dollars to pet charities and animal organizations.

Ray also runs a Santa Paws campaign where she teams up with her animal-loving celebrity friends and counts down to the holidays by donating to animal rescue organizations chosen by her pals. Be on the lookout for the 2017 Santa Paws.
