Forget the Super Bowl, Meet the Puppy Bowl Lineup of 2018

Puppy fans know what the Super Bowl means!

It means they get to watch the puppy bowl!

Animal Planet has hosted the annual Puppy Bowl during the real Super Bowl for the past 14 years. Featuring adoptable puppies from around the country, viewers tune in for two hours of adorable dogs from Team Ruff and Team Fluff running after toys, tackling each other to try to win the Lombarki Trophy provided by chewy.com. Some may say it's better than football.

The cutest sporting event is ruffereed by Dan Schachner, who's been calling puppy penalties for the past seven years. Dan will also have help from an adorable rescue sloth. Sports commentator Rodt Weiler is there to explain all the special plays during the Bowl. The MVP (most valuable puppy) is named at the end of the game.

This year, Puppy Bowl LII will see puppies rescued from the year's natural disasters. The featured puppies up for adoption came from shelters in Houston, Puerto Rico, Florida, and Mexico. The Puppy Bowl will kick off with Jokgyu the piano-playing chicken who will peck the national anthem.

Meet the 92 puppies of this year's Bowl and watch them train for the big day with this sneak peak from Us magazine!

Watching adorable puppies looking for their forever home is enough to tug at anyone's heartstrings. Animal Planet will also host the first annual Dog Bowl featuring older dogs up for adoption and the kitten bowl with cats featured from animal shelters from around the country.

To see the entire starting puppy lineup check out Animal Planet's roster. And tune in for the big event on Super Bowl Sunday, February 4, at 3 p.m. EST.
