When the San Antonio Great Dane Rescue received a photo of a dog who was clearly emaciated, they went to Facebook for help.

The Facebook post read as follows:

***Urgent request for transport for this skinny girl from Harlingen to San Antonio ASAP! The owner has surrendered…

The comments quickly poured in, as people desperately worked to figure out where the photo was taken. Supposedly, the photo was taken by someone from out of town so there wasn’t an address.

Eventually, someone was able to find an address:

Not long after the address was found, the local authorities were able to track down the dog.

As stated in the above Facebook post, the dog is safe and will be going to a rescue in San Antonio.


The power of social media definitely shined in this case, as the entire effort to find and rescue the dog took less than seven hours!
