As all equestrians know, horses are really good at getting themselves into trouble.

Luckily, when this horse got stuck in a barn window while trying to join friends, the Ventura County Fire Department was there to help.

The VCFD’s large animal rescue team responded to the 8500 block of Waters Road in Somis, California, at about 8 p.m. on September 30.

Since the horse was stuck in an unfortunate position – half in and half out of the barn window – it took almost an hour to free him.

While the horse didn’t have any obvious injuries, a veterinarian was called to the scene as a precaution anyway.

According to a tweet by fire officials, the horse got stuck while attempting to “be with companions.”

It’s not surprising, since horses are herd animals. However, most horses wouldn’t choose a window as a viable route to join friends.

Being stuck in a window while your friends are enjoying themselves couldn’t have been fun, but thankfully, this horse is now free.

Good thing the VCFD was there to help!
