When he’s not selling eggs at the local farmers market, David Boyett makes chicken music videos.
At his home in Arkansas, Boyett runs the DVB Nonprofit Chicken Ranch.
The ranch isn’t a registered nonprofit but, as stated on Boyett’s business card, has been “proudly not making a profit since 2006.”
According to the Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Boyett’s chicken obsession began with his wife, Virginia. She wanted the birds as a way to reduce the amount of ticks on their property.
The first flock they bought – a gaggle of buff Orpingtons – emigrated to his neighbor’s farm.
“They had no sense of loyalty,” Boyett said.
Virginia soon lost interest in the birds due to their smell and penchant for nibbling on the grass, but David’s love for the birds grew so much that he started filming music videos with the chickens.
In the chicken music videos posted below, Boyett applies his video editing skills to make the birds dance and sing along to the songs.
The videos are very fun and unique. Check them out for yourself!
“Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift
“Working in a Coal Mine” by Allen Toussaint
“Ave Maria” by Franz Schubert
“Kung Fu Fighting” by Carl Douglas
“Gangnam Style” by PSY
